About TU Dublin

Technological University Dublin, known as TU Dublin, has a history that stretches back to 1887, when the City of Dublin Technical Schools were established. In that same year, a Technical College was set up at Kevin Street by Arnold Felix Graves, who was also a poet, songwriter, and novelist. Today, TU Dublin stands as one of the leading public universities in Dublin, Ireland. As Ireland's first technological university, it is also the second-largest university in Dublin and the largest higher education institution in the country. The university has more than 28,000 students and over 3,000 staff members spread across five campuses located in Grangegorman, Blanchardstown, Tallaght, Bolton Street, and Aungier Street. TU Dublin was officially formed in 2019 through the merging of three institutes of technology — Institute of Technology Blanchardstown, Dublin Institute of Technology, and Institute of Technology Tallaght — after more than seven years of collaborative work between these institutions.

The university is increasingly recognized for its research efforts, with over 800 researchers working in areas like sustainability, health technologies, and urban development. The main Grangegorman campus acts as a central hub for academic and research activities, designed to support collaboration within a modern, integrated city setting. TU Dublin maintains a global perspective, welcoming students and staff from all around the world. Strong international connections offer numerous opportunities for exchange programs, collaborative research projects, and employment. With over 7,000 graduates each year, TU Dublin continues to make a positive impact by promoting collaborative learning, innovative research, and active community involvement.
