Dundalk Institute of Technology, or DkIT, formerly Regional Technical College, Dundalk, is a 90 acre (360,000 m2) campus located in Dundalk, County Louth. Dundalk is a vibrant town halfway between Dublin and Belfast (each approximately 50 miles away). It is also the administrative capital of County Louth.

DkIT is at a distance of half a mile from the main Dublin Belfast road and a 3 minutes drive from the M1 motorway to Dublin. Dublin Airport is a 35 minute drive by car. Dundalk is served by the Dublin Belfast Train corridor and Dundalk's Clarke Station is approximately a 20 minute walk (or 6 euro taxi ride) from the campus. The main Bus Eireann station in Dundalk is approximately a 15 minute walk from the campus.

The Institute aims at providing the community with quality third level education and services, relevant to the economic social and cultural development of the region in the national and international context. Its objective is to promote personal responsibility among all its students and augment the professionalism of all its members in a supportive, inclusive and productive environment.

At DkIT students are offered the opportunity to build their qualifications over time, from Higher Certificate through to Degree, Masters and Doctorate level. The College is committed to ensuring that students are afforded the opportunity to develop their full potential in a professional and supportive environment. DkIT currently has four Schools, each one consisting of a number of departments with a variety of programmes on offer. The Lifelong Learning Centre also offers many part-time study options. Moreover there are many apprenticeship options on offer, through the School of Engineering.
